MY "SPRINGY" EASTER WREATH...

Linking up to here:  http://www.skiptomylou.org/

Is "springy" even a word????!!  :)  Well I finally got around to making my "SPRINGY" Easter wreath this weekend ~ in between priming and painting my mudroom.

Started with this:

which I first painted brown...but then decided on a creamy yellow.
I then headed to my favorite store...HOBBY LOBBY to pick me up one of these...

I cut out the center to make a square and hot glued some Easter Eggs in random spots.

I placed it on top of the box ~ kind of looks neat as a centerpiece, don't ya think???

I finally hot glued the wreath to the yellow box ~ hung a pale yellow/creamy ribbon from it and presto...my "SPRINGY WREATH"! :)
What do you think???!!!??  :)

Here's a sneak peek of my baskets in the mudroom...hope to be finished by this week!

Happy Monday All...

THE SIMPLE THINGS...

I'm joining up at this link...
Come join the party...

Just link up something that captures a "simple" moment in your life this week...sometimes...all it takes is that "something simple" to bring us back to reality in our busy busy lives!

My simple moment is a picture of tulips that I took while on vacation.
The sun was coming in the balcony truly highlighting the tulips beauty!  Plus, it makes me think of Spring ~ which I am deparately wishing for!

Go find your "Something Simple"... and enjoy!

I THINK I CAN...I THINK I CAN...

...finish my mudroom that is!  :)  The end is almost  near...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

OK - you get the idea!

Although I'm not ready for the final reveal...let's take a sneak peek...

Here you can see the bench, shoe cubby and top cubby...you'll also notice that darn outlet and laundry hook up.  We had to work around those...as this used to be a first floor laundry with the previous owners.  We thought it might be a good idea to keep these in place in case the next owner wants a first floor laundry room.

The board and batten is up...ready to be primed!!!!  Yes, my wonderful hubby decided to use real wood (not primed MDF board) which would have been a bit easier...not to mention a whole lot quicker!  :)

Anyways...I've been priming the wood today and will get my first coat of paint on later tonight!

Like I said...I'm almost there...  :)

On a side note...in between coats of paint, I've been working on another spring wreath.

I stole  borrowed the idea from Courtney.  She is super talented!!!!!
Mine will be ready to go by tomorrow!

Now back to painting...

My Love for Letters...

Happy Spring!

Just in case you were wondering...I LOVE anything done with monograms and letters!  I did a very quick craft with the letter "L"...(my last name)... and a picture frame I had in the basement.

First, I must tell you I found the self-sticking "L" at JoAnn's...$2.00 on clearance!  :)  Then, I grabbed the white frame, some extra scrapbooking paper, and turned it into this:

I decided not to use the brown trim...but still think it might be missing something...hmmmm?!?

I think I'll leave it for now...unless you guys have any ideas??!!

Tracy  :)

Mudroom Envy...and Spring Project #1...

Our house is not very large...and so we make due and work with what we have!  As you enter into the house from the garage...we have a very tiny room I like to call our "mudroom".  It actually is set up to be a first floor laundry...but in our family...a first floor laundry room open to the kitchen would just not work!  You see, the laundry would be piled up in baskets and most likely, we wouldn't even be able to get into the back door!  :)  Of course I kid, it's not really THAT bad...but it just wouldn't work for us!

And so...we use our area as a catch all  place to keep jackets and backpacks!  I'd show you a picture, but the hubby removed everything while I was at work!  When I came home for lunch...the "mudroom" was pretty empty!

Just imagine a yellow bench underneath the mirror...and jackets/packbacks thrown all over the hooks and bench!  We also had a shoe cubby (I made out of an old cabinet turned on its side) against the wall closest to the bathroom...

Everything worked for a while...but I wanted to do something different! :)  And so I begged asked the hubby to work his magic...I showed him some pictures I had found in blogland...such INSPIRATION!!!!!!

Here are a few of those pics...

Source unknown

Source Unknown...but love the desk too!

So talented...this was just an empty wall before!

AND FINALLY...

Can't say enough about this one...I think this just might work in our area!  :)

So...now that I have some inspriation...we are on our way to creating an updated mudroom!
Stay tuned...  :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my friends in blogland...

Here's a quick project that I made where I tryto  post messages and reminders for the kids...and for myself too!  :)

It's nothing more than a simple inexpensive plate I bought from Marshall's  for $4.00.  Using my Silhouette and scraps of black vinyl...I cut out a simple design and the word "NOTES".  I also use this for reminders...

And the best part...I keep the dry erase marker attached to the back of the plate using velcro...

In my house...this is a must!!!!!  :)

I know it's not an original idea...but it works!!!

Hugs,

Tracy ;)

Pottery Barn Knock Off...

I couldn't wait...I just LOVE the Easter Eggs featured in the newest Pottery Barn Catalog! I knew I could redo them with my clutter   crafty supplies!  All it took was vinyl and my Silhouette.  (Of course you could use scrapbooking stickers too). I chose the "Attic" font at about 1 1/2 in size.  The eggs I used were already tan and so I just added the black vinyl letters to each!

I already had the bunny and added her to the basket...it's one of those Dollar Store piggy banks... :)
He He...Like I said...I used what I had!  Not bad, eh?  ;)

Super easy... you should try it!

Happy Crafting!

Paper crafting...

Just thought I'd share a few projects I've done along the way...I love creating things using my scrapbooking stuff...Lord knows I have enough of it!  :)

Here's a basket I did a while back...It was for an event to raise money for my son's friend who had cancer.  Good news...is that this boy is ok and leading a normal 11 year old life!  :)

The basket went into a Chinese Auction...it included note cards, book marks, chocolate treats and gift tags.  Because this event was in November, I made sure to include Christmas and Holiday items that I thought could be useful.

I had so much fun creating this basket!  The best part of the project was that I knew it was going towards a GREAT cause!!!!!   :)

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday...and happy crafting!
